Teamwork makes the dream work!

 Hello Turtle Class Families!

For families who celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival, we hope you enjoyed fun-filled festivities with your loved ones! The children thoroughly enjoyed creating real and playdough mooncakes recently in class.

To further explore the key concept of Connection, the Turtle Class participated in a variety of teamwork activities inside and outside of the classroom! We posed a number of problem scenarios for the class to think about and decide whether some problems are big or small and how we should solve different types of problems. We have been using the following visuals to support the class with their problem-solving skills and it has been wonderful to observe the class use these skills in practical situations with their peers.

We have been celebrating the children taking responsibility for solving problems independently and for also completing other self-management tasks in class. We would love to see the boys and girls taking responsible actions at home, such as making their own beds, tidying away their toys, and helping with chores around their home. Please feel free to upload some photographs/videos of your children's responsibilities at home, as we would like to share and discuss this in class next week.

Our discussions surrounding emergency services, when faced with an emergency problem, led us to inquire into real-life heroes and some of the children's favourite fictional superheroes. We focused on their superhero powers, such as bravery, kindness and helpfulness. This also inspired the class to create a superhero headquarters in our role-play area, where we had lots of fun putting our superhero powers into practice!

Some superheroes demonstrate great teamwork and so do bumble bees! This week we began inquiring into hardworking bees and how they help and support their bee friends in the beehive! We played lots of fun games, where we had to help save our friends from the 'rain'! We also played with some new robot friends called Beebots! The children had to work together as a team to input directions for the Beebots to reach flowers to collect nectar to make yummy honey!

We look forward to continuing to practise our problem-solving and teamwork skills next week in class!
