New Year Wishes!

 Dear Turtle Class Families,

Firstly, we would like to wish you all a Happy New Year, and we hope that 2025 is filled with love, good health and happiness! It has been wonderful hearing all about the class' holiday adventures over the winter break!

We began our first week of 2025 discussing our wishes for the year ahead and we placed our wishes onto a wishing tree in the classroom. We would like to invite the class to share any photographs of wishing trees that they may see around Hong Kong during the Lunar New Year celebrations and upload them into the following Photo Albums:

Our discussions of stars led us to inquire into space and share our prior knowledge - the children knew a lot of information and shared how they would like to create a 'Space World' area in the classroom! Ariana also shared how we could create 'galaxy slime' too! Take a look at our busy Turtle Class in action:

The children particularly enjoyed reading a story set in space called 'Captain Invincible and the Space Shapes'. The Turtle Class has begun identifying and recognising the differences between 2D and 3D shapes and we have had lots of fun searching for shapes around school and sorting them to create space rockets!

Whilst at home or out in you local environment, perhaps you could also try to identity as many different 2D and 3D shapes around you!

With the colder weather we have been experiencing in Hong Kong recently, we took the opportunity to practise our self-management skills when putting on our jackets independently. We have been practising the fun 'coat flip' technique, which can be seen in the following video!

Books we have read recently...
